Ironman Race Day takes place Sunday, August 2. The race begins at 6 am with a 3.8-kilometre loop in the Ottawa River from Brittania Park, followed by a 180-kilometre fully closed-road bike course and ending with a 42.2-kilometre run.
Closures on Sunday, August 2: Road closures are expected to start as early as 3 am on Sunday, August 2. Roads will be reopened to traffic once participants complete that section of the course. Some roads may be closed until approximately 1 am on Monday, August 3.
In Ward 13, the cycling route includes:
- Sussex Drive (New Edinburgh)
- Rockcliffe Driveway
- The full length of the Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway to St. Joseph Boulevard and back
Alexandra Bridge will be closed in both directions from 6 am on Sunday, August 2 to 6 am on Monday, August 3.
