The committee’s mandate is to provide oversight and focused attention on non-operational matters related to Ottawa’s light rail systems, including all light rail construction projects, the City’s action plan in response to the Ottawa Light Rail Public Inquiry and other third-party reviews of the light-rail transit system. Membership consists of six Members of Council and the Mayor.

The sub-committee today passed a motion to recommend Council direct the Interim City Manager bring forward a report outlining staff’s delegated authority with respect to the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Light Rail Transit (LRT) Project Agreements, including the current use and application. The motion also requires the Interim City Manager to provide the sub-committee with regular updates on the use of delegated authority, and that amendments related to the Project Agreements be brought to Council for approval.
