Ottawa Riverkeeper Speaker Series - every other Wednesday through the summer (July 2, 16, 30 & August 13, 27)

The river flows… and so do the words! On Wednesday evening, June 18th, Ottawa Riverkeeper hosted the first event in a summer speaker series, Current Conversations. This event was focused on the power of the river to inspire art, with poetry readings from Ottawa's Poet Laureates and other local poets bringing their own voices forward for the river. The event was filled with inspiring and emotional words about the river and the importance of water in our lives. Ottawa Riverkeeper will be hosting an event in this series every other Wednesday throughout the summer, with an intriguing variety of speakers covering lots of topics related to the river. Curious about the caves and mussels of the Ottawa River? Want to learn about the movement to give rivers rights? Or are you curious about the health of the watershed? All the events are held at Ottawa Riverkeeper’s Learning Lab, on the lower floor of the NCC River House. The address is 501 Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway, Suite 101.
