Construction of a new pedestrian crossing (PXO) at North River Road and Stevens Avenue is underway. The contractor will next be paving the base course asphalt layer followed by the final 'toplift' asphalt layer. These applications are expected to be completed by the end of this week, Nov. 10. The signage will be installed at a later date. It is anticipated that the lights will be activated next spring when the painted lines for the crossing are applied in warmer weather. My office has been advised that the activation of the signalized lights must coincide with the application of the painted lines.
