Updates from Ottawa Public Health - March 9, 2023

Covid-19 Vaccine Updates:
- To date, more than 57,600 doses of vaccines have been administered in Ottawa.
- The first pop-up vaccination clinic(link is external) in Ottawa opened at the Albion-Heatherington Recreation Complex. Continuing over the weekend and through subsequent pop-up clinics, the most severely impacted residents will have access to COVID-19 vaccines. Additional pop-up clinics will be rolled out to the remaining high-priority neighbourhoods in the coming weeks.
- Bookings are available for eligible residents(link is external) to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and more information on the next pop-up clinics will be shared on Monday, March 8. Kindly take note that call volumes are very high, so please do not call to book an appointment if you are not eligible. Learn more(link is external).

- In addition to the pop-up clinics, vaccination efforts continue to focus on the highest priority health care workers as defined by the Province, Indigenous older adults, retirement home residents (second doses) and other congregate care settings for seniors, including shelters.
- Vaccination of these groups is occurring simultaneously through multiple delivery agents, including mobile vaccination teams, The Ottawa Hospital Clinic, the Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health, the Akausivik Inuit Family Health Team and Ottawa Inner City Health(link is external).
- Once the vaccine supply allows, additional community clinics will open for other residents born in or before 1941 and residents who are receiving chronic homecare services. This is expected to take place later in March.

- “Our collective goal is to reduce COVID-19 rates to be able to move to fewer restrictions under the Provincial framework and less pressure on the healthcare system.
