Forêt Capitale Forest is partnering with St. Mary's Home to create an edible forest that will help support the families they serve by strengthening food security, providing fresh produce for their food bank and community programs, and increasing access to healthy food for approximately 40 families each week. The project will also create opportunities for families to learn about gardening, food preparation, and caring for edible plants.
They are hosting a volunteer planting event this Thursday, June 25, from 2 to 4 pm at St. Mary's Home, 780 de l’Église Street.
Everyone is welcome to help plant fruit trees, berry-producing shrubs and edible plants. All tools and equipment will be provided.
