The City of Ottawa’s Emergency and Protective Services department (Public Policy Development branch) is currently reviewing the effectiveness of establishing a municipal business licensing regime for payday loan establishments, as directed by Council. This review is part of a joint project with the Planning, Infrastructure and Economic Development department, which has launched a Minor Zoning Study on Payday Loan Establishments.
Residents are invited to provide comments on potential business licensing regulations for payday loan establishments. The City’s web site contains details on these reviews within the Public Engagement page available at https://ottawa.ca/en/city-hall/public-engagement/projects/public-notice-payday-loan-establishment-licensing-review, including how to provide comments by July 31, 2019.
