  • The Awesome Authors Youth Writing Contest Is Back! Who wouldn’t want to be a published author at a young age? That’s exactly what the Awesome Authors Youth Writing Contest offers! Ottawa youth aged 9 to 18 with a valid library card are invited to submit an original work in the following categories—poetry, short story, or comic—by February 28. Encourage the young people in your life to take part and take their first steps toward a writing career.
  • Family Literacy Day – New Year’s Resolution? Read Together! To celebrate Family Literacy Day, the Library is offering a variety of literacy-focused programs from January 17 to February 1. These activities encourage parents and children to come together through stories and shared experiences for meaningful family moments. Visit your local branch to join in.
  • Teen Exam Cram: Teen Support & Stress Relief at OPL! The Library has everything to help secondary school students navigate through exam season. From January 5 to 30, teens can visit their local branch to access quiet study spaces, study materials, free Wi-Fi, and even snacks.
