Mayor Jim Watson and Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward Councillor Rawlson King presented the Mayor’s City Builder Award to Jennifer Cook Baniczky, in honour of her of outstanding volunteerism and philanthropy.
With the accumulation of up to 20 cm of snow today, the City will put a winter weather parking ban into effect beginning at 7 am on Friday, February 7, 2020 to assist with winter road maintenance operations.
Motorists should expect continued intermittent lane reductions on Montreal Road, between Vanier Parkway and St. Laurent Boulevard over the next week.
Rawlson King, Councillor for Rideau-Rockcliffe, was pleased to second the successful motion to make Ottawa the first city in Canada to declare a housing and homelessness emergency.
Due to weather conditions, the winter weather parking ban will be in effect today, Sunday beginning at 3 pm until Monday at 7 am. These hours may be extended if necessary, to complete winter road operations.
