Rideau-Rockcliffe Councillor Rawlson King submitted a letter to the Ottawa Police Service Board for its June 22, 2020 meeting concerning police reform.
The City is now cautiously reopening and resuming some programs and services with safety being the top priority. The phased reopening plan prioritizes programs and services that promote a safe and strategic expansion of Ottawa’s economy, with ongoing support for Ottawa’s vulnerable communities. It also focuses on the ability to be flexible based on health advice and a potentially changing environment.
To advance anti-racism and race relations initiatives, Council appointed Rideau-Rockcliffe Councillor Rawlson King as the Council Liaison for Anti-Racism and Ethnocultural Relations Initiatives.
On June 2, the Finance Committee recommended City Council appoint Councillor King as the Council Liaison for Anti-Racism and Ethnocultural Relations Initiatives.
