Join the City of Ottawa on Thursday, May 30 for the 21st annual AccessAbility Day event. The event will be held in person as part of National AccessAbility Week.
On this day, we celebrate the contributions and leadership of people with disabilities in our communities. This event is also an opportunity to highlight the work of people, organizations and communities that are removing barriers, and reflect on how we can work together to achieve a more accessible and inclusive society.
During the morning opening ceremony, Mayor Sutcliffe will provide remarks and proclaim AccessAbility Day in Ottawa. The event will also feature a keynote address from Phillip B. Turcotte, advocate, disability champion, and former chair of the City’s Accessibility Advisory Committee.
In the afternoon, attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback on accessibility at the City during consultations for the new City of Ottawa Municipal Accessibility Plan(link is external) (COMAP), launching in 2025.
