The Government of Canada is moving forward with the next phase of the new interprovincial bridge project on the Montée Paiement-Aviation Parkway corridor. In collaboration with Public Services and Procurement Canada, the National Capital Commission has published the initial public participation report for the Eastern Bridge Project. The report captures input about community priorities, potential impacts, mitigation measures, and planning and design principles from over 5,000 survey respondents and members of the three public advisory groups. The next round of public participation is scheduled for early 2026 and will seek input from the public on the early design concepts. The planning and design principles are currently being finalized and will provide the guidelines for the integrated project team to develop the design concepts for the new bridge.
