O-Train Line 1 rail service update

The system repairs and verification testing progressed on schedule today (Jan. 10).

As a result, full O-Train Line 1 service from Tunney’s Pasture to Blair station is expected to resume this evening (Jan. 10). City Council and customers will be notified once full Line 1 is in service.

System progress and verification continues on schedule. As a result, full service on O-Train Line 1 is expected to resume after 8:30 pm. Council and customers will be notified once full Line 1 is in service.

RTM is removing the last immobilized train on Track 2. As part of the ongoing final testing of the system, trains will then complete trips between uOttawa and Tremblay station. These trains are not in service.

The safety of our customers and employees is our top priority. OC Transpo’s engineering team and our external experts have verified the final inspections and return-to-service plan.

R1 replacement bus service will taper off once full Line 1 service resumes. All customer trips will be accommodated before the service ends. OC Transpo employees and signage will be available at key locations to assist customers.

A root cause investigation is underway.

The City of Ottawa will hold a virtual media availability to provide an update on O-Train Line 1 service at 5:30 pm today, January 10. Listen live: https://bit.ly/3iAi9Xr
