Plans are progressing to redevelop 240 Presland Road in Overbrook, where an apartment building was lost to a fire in early 2023.
Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation (CCOC), which owns the property, is sharing the project details with Overbrook residents, the Overbrook Community Association and the general public prior to submitting an application to the City of Ottawa this month. CCOC, which is a non-profit housing organization whose mission is to create, maintain and promote housing for low- and moderate-income people, is proposing a new mixed-income housing development featuring a six-storey building. The new building will contain approximately 67 universally accessible housing units ranging from studios to three bedrooms for a range of attainable rents to accommodate the needs of families, seniors, youth and newcomers. The building will be designed to maximize energy efficiency, sustainability and resiliency. Ample car and bicycle parking will be provided onsite.
The design team is refining the drawings and plans to submit planning applications to the City of Ottawa in March 2025, with the goal of starting construction in late 2025. For the complete project briefing, please visit this link.
