Community Transportation Survey

In order to effectively set our priorities for the coming year, our office has created a survey to gather community feedback about traffic and transportation issues in our ward. This survey is intended for anyone who lives, works, or plays in Rideau-Rockcliffe, and we hope to have a broad range of responses.

 

August 2019 Newsletter for Rideau-Rockcliffe

Rawlson King, Councillor for Rideau-Rockcliffe (Ward 13), released his newsletter for August 2019 outlining upcoming news and events. This third issue provides Ward 13 and City Council updates, including news around the Para Transpo service and a proposed anti-racism office at the City of Ottawa, along with information about upcoming community events and public consultations.

CSST Schedule Update - August 2019

The City of Ottawa has provided an update for the Combined Sewage Storage Tunnel (CSST) project. The CSST is designed to reduce the frequency of combined sewage outflows to the Ottawa River, and reduce basement flooding risks for several neighbourhoods, while improving the flexibility and redundancy of major downtown collector sewers, specifically the 50-year-old Interceptor Outfall Sewer and the 80-year-old Rideau Canal Interceptor Sewer.

Ottawa River Boathouse Revitalization Project

The National Capital Commission (NCC) will be undertaking major restoration work at the Ottawa River Boathouse over the coming year. To protect this heritage building — a historic landmark — and to make it universally accessible for all Canadians, including Ottawa residents, to enjoy year-round, several elements will be restored.  Construction is scheduled to commence mid-July and will impact cycling and pedestrian pathways.

Join Crime Prevention Ottawa

Crime Prevention Ottawa is recruiting for both its Board of Directors and its Community Forum. Crime Prevention Ottawa is a City agency that contributes to crime reduction and enhanced community safety in Ottawa through collaborative evidence-based crime prevention. Its role is to build community capacity, foster community action, nurture partnerships and engage in policy dialogue. The organization's initiatives include addressing violence against women, gangs and disability and abuse.
